Watch: How Sleeper built a Super-Brand in 5 Years

ORDRE meets Sleeper to discuss retail strategy, new business and their growing list of tier one retailers.

When Ukranian friends Kate Zubarieva and Asya Varetsa launched womenswear label Sleeper in 2014, they were new to the design industry. Fast forward and they have grown to become a strong design talent, establishing a lounge aesthetic of slouchy yet elegant silhouettes, puffy sleeves and silk slips. Sleeper’s list of tier one stockists, from Net-A-Porter online to Galeries Lafayette Champs-Élysées, distinctly presents its commercial success.

Carrying over styles has helped the brand affirm a distinct identity, like their milkmaid Brigitte dresses and feather-boa pyjama set. For SS’20, alongside newly-shaped puff-sleeved frocks - including a black for night and rose print for sunny days - Sleeper is continuing with a wedding capsule including more silk bridal styles, available for wholesale order, as Daria says, “It previously did really well on our e-commerce website so we are expanding in line with demand.”

The Sleeper wholesale collection is currently open for wholesale orders on
