Watch: SKIIM Combines French Chic with London Cool

In conversation with ORDRE, SKIIM designer Caroline Sciamma-Massenet talks collaborating with Chanel footwear designer Laurence Dacade, her consistent relationship with retailers and the SS’20 collection.

Inspired by the attitude of 1960s- and 1970s-era French cinema, Paris-born and London-based Caroline Sciamma-Massenet launched ready-to-wear label SKIIM in 2016. After recognising a gap in the ethical leather industry, Sciamma-Massenet left behind her editorial and stylist career to launch a womenswear label focused on supply chain transparency, fair trade and garment longevity.

Despite being just three years young, SKIIM has an impressive list of stockists including the likes of Browns in London, Aishti in Lebanon and Paris department store Le Bon Marché. As designer Sciamma-Massenet says, the collections hold an air of modernity with vibrant colours and commercially strong pieces like mini dresses, leather jackets and blouses.
