A NEW CHANNEL FOR THE BUSINESS OF FASHION

With the combined experience of 40 years in the business of fashion, the company founders' recognised the challenges created by the changing environment for luxury brands in managing their global wholesale networks. The impact of the digital revolution, increased retailer competitiveness and other global economic factors have created significant disruption to traditional business channels. Fashion week schedules continue to be in a state of flux and the ability for retail buyers to be able to constantly travel to attend physical showrooms spread around the world, presents a range of logistical and cost related challenges. The founders’ vision was to create ORDRE as an additional and complementary channel to facilitate the management of luxury wholesale networks globally through the presentation of seasonal collections through online showrooms.

ORDRE was established in 2014 by husband and wife team Simon and Kirsten Lock.

SUSTAINABILITY

ORDRE is committed to reducing our environmental impact throughout our business processes. We have pledged to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, minimise waste and ensure the responsible use of natural resources. One thing we’ve done recently is calculating our carbon footprint from business travel in conjunction with the Carbon Trust. We will offset this for FY 2018/19 whilst continuing this promise to into the future.

We are also working to reduce our impact across our global offices by implementing sustainable alternatives including the use of reused office furniture, installing LED lighting and diverting waste from landfill.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

The key to ORDRE’s continuing success is embracing and developing new technologies that allow creative, highly detailed, luxury collections to be understood online. ORDRE captures the details that allow buyers to feel confident about placing wholesale orders online when they can’t always be physically in front of a collection. ORDRE then uses these technologies in a designer’s physical showroom to create greater efficiencies in traditional order placement and to provide comprehensive and insightful data analytics. The ORDRE Tech Lab, located in London, develops the innovative hardware and software applications that drive the ORDRE network; this includes features such as interactive 360 view images and video, virtual reality, touch and feel technology, artificial intelligence and RFID applications.

LUXURY FOCUS

ORDRE was established with a very specific focus and positioning. It is a highly curated community that is focused exclusively on apparel (women’s and men’s) and accessory brands in the luxury ready-to-wear industry. This includes both established and emerging designers that appeal to the consumer markets of high profile department stores, sophisticated multi-label boutiques and online retailers.

GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE

From its inception ORDRE has established a global presence. Its designer portfolio includes luxury brands from all the major fashion capitals in addition to those from important emerging markets. Its retail network spans the world including retail organisations from 93 countries. ORDRE has offices in New York, London, Milan, Paris and Hong Kong to service the needs of its fashion community globally. Within a global perspective, as the fastest growing luxury market in the world, China commands special attention.
