Proenza Schouler’s design duo, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, take us back to the free spirit of the 1970’s in West America for their Autumn Winter '18 collection. The New York City designers channeled female activists Angelica Davis and Anjelica Huston from those times, for an empowered collection that could not be more in tune with today’s #Metoo movement and female protests.
The hippie aesthetic and Americana influences come through in rich earthy tones and intricate textile craftsmanship; colourful tie-dye prints, macramé and crochet patchworks, shearling edging on coats and sweeping fringes on skirts, belts and bags. Statement eclectic metal jewelry hang over leather macramé tops and midi-dresses. Unmissable, are the oversized leather bags in dark browns and burnt orange colours. Watch the video here:
