"The whole handbag thing kind of evolved," says need-to-know designer Nicole Zhang, who launched her ready-to-wear line—best known for its distinctive leather and fabrication details—in Shanghai in 2012. "Clothes have always been my main passion," she explains, yet it's no surprise that Zhang has been slowly adding in accessories to her collection yielding critical acclaim. Fall 2015 will mark the first time she will be showing a full-blown collection outside China which will wholesale live for the first time to ORDRE retailers.  Back track to the spring summer collection where Zhang based her inspiration on unisex anatomies; the elegance of long, lean female dancers at practice and classic men’s suiting. As for the look of the clothes? ‘I try to make it elegant and effortless, modern without an overriding trend’ Zhang says. "Women want to have an independence to their look with an appreciation for the fine details."  Past efforts have included leather punched dresses, ethereal silk skirts and punchy oversized jackets, and next up, Zhang is taking her tomboy tendencies and applying them to silk bonded chiffon.  Her future ideals? I’d like to secure a handful of influential retailers like Barneys New York or Liberty London and smaller niche boutiques like Broken Arm in Paris.
